Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr awarded L'Oreal "For Women in Science"

Lily120Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr, BIOTEC researcher, is among the four scientists honored by L'Oreal "For Women in Science" Award. Lily was recognized for her research entitled "Molecular approach for enzyme discovery from microbial resources in Thailand". Her work involves the search for new enzymes extracted from natural sources that can be used in various industries in Thailand, reducing the need to import materials.  

The ceremony and award presentation took place on 24 May 2006 at The Thewarajsaparom Hall and the Phyathai Palace and were graciously presided over by Princess Ubolratana. This year recipients, besides Lily, are Dr. Supa Hannongbua from Kasetsart University, Associate Professor Vimolvan Pimpan from Chulalongkorn University and Dr. Wanida Janvikul from National Metals and Materials Technology Centre (MTEC). 

Lily is the 3rd BIOTEC researcher winning this prestigious award, following Dr. Ubolsree Leartsakulpanich and Mrs. Wansika Kiatpathomchai who were honored in 2003 and 2005, respectively. 


The ceremony was graciously presided over by Princess Ubolratana.
