On 14 November 2006, workshop on Status and Database Programme on Processing Technology of Thai Food Industry in Thailand was held at BIOTEC. The purpose of the Stakeholder Recommendation session was to introduce the computer program to the end users (food industry representative and government agencies) and to seek their input or comments on ways to make the program more users friendly. In addition, the session will also allow for discussion on identifying possible host for maintaining the computer program. The initial database program project was funded by BIOTEC and The Thailand Research Fund (TRF).
Mrs. Darunee Edwards, Deputy Director of BIOTEC gave the Welcome and Opening Remark and also indicated that the food sector once considered “sun set industry” will now be able to use the data in the computer program to assist in its processing and production activity thus creating a sustainable “sun rise” comeback.
