BIOTEC launches tripartite collaboration with the National University of Mongolia and the Institute of Biology, Mongolian Academy of Sciences

On 22 December 2006, BIOTEC, the National University of Mongolia (NUM) and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MSA) entered in a 2-year Research & Training Collaborative MOU. The collaboration will focus on the following areas:

  1. Microbial biotechnology
  2. Food biotechnology, focusing on fermented food
  3. Plant biotechnology

The MOU signing ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Yaichil Batsuuri, the Ambassador of Mongolia in Thailand.

This MOU signing ceremony was held in conjunction with a 1-week visit of 4 researchers from NUM and MAS. The researchers had the opportunity to attend the Workshop on Quality Management of Culture Collection for Curators, observe research activities at various laboratories in BIOTEC Central Research Unit and also discuss on potential research projects of mutual interest with BIOTEC researchers.
