Thai-German Special Joint Seminar on “Molecular Cell Biology”

BIOTEC in collaboration with Office of Science and Technology, Royal Thai Embassy in Belgium organized a mission for Prof. Gotthard Kunze, Head of Molecular Cell Biology Department of Leibniz Institutes of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK) from Germany to visit BIOTEC during 17-18 March 2008 to explore collaboration in the field of biotechnology between IPK and Thai researchers. Visit program included lab visit at BIOTEC Central Research Unit, a joint seminar and roundtable discussion between Prof. Kunze and Thai scientists.  


Joint Seminar on “Molecular Cell Biology” was held on 18 March, 2008 to share research experience and current research works at Department of Molecular Cell Biology of IPK and in Thailand. Prof. Kunze was introduced to current interesting projects in Thailand such as the establishment of GMP Bioprocess Development Unit at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), regulation of gamma-linolenic acid production in Mucor rouxii” and production of recombinant enzymes in Pichia pastoris.
