Dr. Kobkul Laoteng awards L'Oreal "For Women in Science 2008"

KobkulDr. Kobkul Laoteng, BIOTEC researcher based at Biochemical Engineering and Pilot Plant Research and Development Unit, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, was awarded L'Oreal "For Women in Science 2008" in the field of life sciences. She has been recognized for her long commitment and hard work on “The Study of Regulation in Fatty Acid Biosynthesis of Mucor Rouxii”. Other three award recipients included Dr. Anchalee Manonukul from The National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), Assist. Prof. Suchana Chavanich and Assist. Prof. Voravee P. Hoven from Chulalongkorn University.

The award presentation ceremony, graciously presided over by Princess Ubolratana, took place on 24 April 2008 at the Phayathai Palace.

Dr. Kobkul is the 5th BIOTEC researcher winning this prestigious award, following Dr. Ubolsree Leartsakulpanich, Mrs. Wansika Kiatpathomchai, Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr and Dr. Kallaya Dangtip who were honored in 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007 respectively. In addition, Dr. Chawanee Thongpanchang, was named UNESCO-L'ORÉAL International Fellow in 2007.
