National Science and Technology Fair 2008

National Science and Technology Fair 2008 was held during 8 – 22 August 2008 at BITEC Convention Center with an aim to promote Thailand Science and Technology. The event was organized by Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), in collaboration with various research and academic institutes in Thailand, including the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA).  Japan and Russia were among partners joining the exhibition to showcase their innovation. 

This year, the event consists of 13 exhibition pavilions, for example, global warming & climate change; automation & robot; space technology; energy; digital world and activities for kids. 

Among the highlights of this year S&T Fair were the 50-year Charles Darwin Evolution Theory exhibition which featured Galapagos experience in biodiversity, Mendel’s Theory, DNA exploration and the book of life & biodiversity zone. Emerging technology exhibition showcased drug delivery system, stem cell treatment, nanotechnology and technology for the disabled. 

The event drew great interest from Thai students, researchers and general public with 1.2 millions participants.





 On 11 August 2008, H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening ceremony of National Science and Technology Fair 2008
