On 1 September 2009, BIOTEC and the Graduate School of Horticulture, Chiba University of Japan renewed a 5-year MOU to strengthen and promote their coordination in academic and research collaboration.
The BIOTEC-CHIBA collaboration started in July 2004 with a 5-year Agreement which has recently been concluded this year. Under the previous Agreement, two major activities were achieved, including a joint research titled “A Rapid Method for Identifying Salt Tolerant Water Convolvulus (Ipomoea aquatica Forsk) under In-vitro Photoautotrophic Conditions” and an exchange of research staff and student. Under the regular research exchange scheme, BIOTEC researchers were invited to give a lecture to graduate and PhD students and to speak in both national and international events. BIOTEC’s Plant Physiology and Biochemistry Laboratory hosted the internship of four CHIBA students, resulting in two joint publications.
