Held under the theme “Science and Technology for our Society and Planet”, NAC2010 included conference and R&D showcase. Focusing on two main important issues, climate change and global warming, the conference featured various detailed presentations and lectures on relevant these two topics. This year, attendance at the annual conference included approximately 3,000 participants from both government and private sectors including students and general public.
At the exhibition hall, R&D Showcase was designed to provide highlights into NSTDA research activities which have been conducted during the past year in partnership with international and local universities and research institutes. An exhibition showcasing comprised of various research activities and products, namely rice breeding; green earth textiles; low carbon economy; renewable energy; marine biodiversity; agricultural, life science and test kit products; sensors; energy; electronic and computer; Nano technology; plant and medical researches.
As part of the conference, BIOTEC organized BIOTEC Open Lab, a lab tour and meetings with BIOTEC researchers, for private sector to foster R&D collaboration. Over 30 companies participated in the activities.
