BIOTEC holds opening ceremony of HRD Program in Biotechnology 2010

On 2 July 2010, the opening ceremony of Human Resource Development Program in Biotechnology 2010 was held at BIOTEC to welcome 12 researchers from neighboring countries, namely Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam. The Program aims to build up R&D capability for developing countries as well as fostering research network among countries in this region.

The Program, itself, places importance on improving research skill. It was designed to be an on-the-job and research-based training in BIOTEC’s laboratories. Twelve trainees will spend their time in the laboratories ranging from three to six months under the close guidance of BIOTEC research team. Enhancing the opportunity for the trainees to have a broader perspective of Thai S&T communities, the course will also include site visits to other research institutes or project sites as well as cultural visit to temples and palaces.
