BIOTEC Executive Board has recently approved the appointment of BIOTEC International Advisory Board (IAB) for 2010-2012. The IAB Committee is made up of 9 members who have been selected from the roster of experts from a broad mix of scientific expertise, practical experience and backgrounds. Serving as chairman of BIOTEC IAB since 2006 is Prof. Ken-ichi Arai, Former Dean of the Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo and Founding President of the Asia-Pacific International Molecular Biology Network (A-IMBN). Joining Prof. Arai in BIOTEC IAB are Dr. Jill Conley (Howard Hughes Medical Institute, USA), Dr. Ming-Chu Hsu (TaiGen Biotechnology Co., Ltd., TAIWAN), Prof. Lene Lange (Aalborg University, DENMARK), Prof. Gerald T. Keusch (Boston University, USA), Prof. Douglas Hilton (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, AUSTRALIA), Prof. Sangkot Marzuki (Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology, INDONESIA), Dr. Martin Keller (Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA), and Dr. Jean-Marcel Ribaut (Generation Challenge Program, MEXICO).
BIOTEC International Advisory Board serves as an advisory body to BIOTEC by ways of providing suggestions on the possible courses of action for the Center and the nation in developing its own biotechnology and in applying biotechnology to our production and services, making use of international advances as well as indigenous research and development. The current Board will serve a two-year term from October 2010 to September 2012.
