NSTDA and CPF enter into MOU on Research and Development in Food and Agriculture

On 22 March 2012, an MOU signing ceremony between NSTDA and Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF), Thailand’s leading agro-industrial and food conglomerate, was held at Thailand Science Park to embark on the collaboration on research and development in food and agriculture. Representing NSTDA and CPF at the ceremony were Dr. Thaweesak Koanantakool, NSTDA President and Mr. Veerachai Ratanabanchuen, CPF Executive Vice President.


This 5-year collaboration signified cooperation between NSTDA and CPF for joint research projects in risk assessment in food and animal disease control. BIOTEC research team from Virology and Cell Technology Laboratory and Food Biotechnology Laboratory are significantly involved in this research collaboration.

CPF operates agro-industrial businesses including animal farming and manufacturing products from meat in Thailand and overseas.  Its livestock business line mainly comprises broilers, layers, swine and duck, whereas the aquatic business line mainly focuses on shrimp and fish.
