With versatile properties, cassava is the world economic crop and its starch has been used extensively in industrial application. As a result of this, the research activities on technical improvement of the starch manufacturing and modification processes are necessary.
BIOTEC, NSTDA in collaboration with Kasetsart Agricultural and Agro-Industrial Product Improvement Institute (KAPI), Kasetsart University organized “Starch Update 2013: The 7th International Conference on Starch Technology” on 21–22 November 2013. Starch Update serves as platform to connect scientists, technologists and industrialiststo enhance development of starch technology and innovation. Present at the opening ceremony were Dr. Thaweesak Koanantakool, President of NSTDA, Assoc. Prof. Dr.SornprachThanisawanyangkura, Assistant Secretary of Kasetsart Council, together with Prof. Dr. Sutthiporn Jitmitarapap, Secretary-General of National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).
