BIOTEC and NSTDA exhibit bovine research at the 2013 National Dairy Fair

The 2013 National Dairy Fair is being held on 18-27 January 2013 at Muak Lek District, Saraburi Province. The opening ceremony on 18 January was graciously presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

This year, BIOTEC and NSTDA join hands to exhibit research and development targeting at dairy industry. Highlight of the exhibition is a demonstration of the competitive ELISA test for progesterone levels in blood and milk sample, a crucial test for estrous confirmation, pregnancy exclusion and ovarian activities determination. This test was developed by BIOTEC Agricultural Biotechnology Research Unit. Other work presented at the exhibition includes:

National Dairy Fair is an annual event organized by Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand (DPO). Participating in the Fair are dairy farm industries, private sectors and government agencies such as the Royal Chitralada Agricultural Projects, the Department of Livestock Development, the Department of Agriculture and Kasetsart University. Activities include milk collection and processing lectures, milking machine maintenance, forage crop products, special seminars, agricultural educational tours and dairy cow contest.
