The First Biosafety and Bioethics Course in Thailand

BIOTEC and the Center for Agricultural Biotechnology (CAB), Kasetsart University, have jointly developed “Biosafety and Bioethics” course. This course was launched as an elective subject for a Doctoral Program in Agricultural Biotechnology in 2013 at CAB, Kasetsart University. The course comprises the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety to the Convention on biological diversity, international and national biosafety regulation, biosafety guidelines for work related to modern biotechnology and genetic engineering including risk assessment and management. BIOTEC researchers and technical officers take part in the teaching of this course.
