BIOTEC took part in an exhibition of Thailand Pavilion at the 2013 BIO International Convention held in Chicago, Illinois, USA, on 22 – 25 April 2013 to promote Thailand as the destination for biotech industry investment.
Thailand Pavilion was organized by Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS) and Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) in collaboration with BIOTEC, National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), Naresuan University, Prince of Songkla University, Chulalongkorn University and companies to exhibit new biotechnology products and information under the theme “Thailand as emerging life sciences hub”.
BIO International Convention 2013, an annual biotechnology convention in USA, was participated by more than 13,000 industry leaders and research scientists from both government and private sectors from 62 countries and 47 US States. The conference program comprised of 17 tracks, 125 breakout sessions covering biofuels and biobased chemical, food and agriculture, technology regulatory and patenting, and business development. The exhibition consisted of 1,722 exhibitors with 60 USA states and international pavilions while business partnerings were recorded at 25,573.
