2013 Human Resource Development Program kicked off

On 3 July 2013, BIOTEC organized the opening ceremony of Human Resource Development Program in Biotechnology 2013at Thailand Science Park to welcome young researchers from Asia – Pacific region. This year, there are ten from five countries: Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam, participating in the program.
In the ceremony, the participants gave the presentation to introduce themselves and their organizations. The opening ceremony was followed by lectures on various disciplines of biotechnology to lay down scientific foundation in preparation for the lab training.
The objective of the HRD Program is to build up R&D capability among developing countries. The program is divided into two categories, three months for a fundamental course and six months for an advanced course. During the training periods, all young researchers will be trained under the guidance of BIOTEC researchers in different research areas, for example, monoclonal antibody production, microbial engineering, plant molecular genetics, shrimp molecular biology and biotechnology, and also waste utilization and management.
