The joint project aims to investigate the utilization of microbes for biocontrol and industrial enzyme production, incorporating the aspects of culture collection management, screening for and production of effective biocontrol agents as well as the development and production of lignocellulolytic enzymes. The initial stage will involve and exchange of six BPPT experts to work with BIOTEC researchers.

An MOU between BIOTEC and BPPT was established in December 2013, when BIOTEC delegation led by Dr. Lily Eurwilaitchitr, BIOTEC Deputy Executive Director, visited Indonesia to organize a Workshop on Towards ASEAN Connectivity on Bio-Resources Management and Utilization.
