The success of Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs): Train-the-Trainers Program
BIOTEC and the Joint Institute for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (JIFSAN), a multi-disciplinary research and education program established by the University of Maryland (UM) in collaboration with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), organized training program on Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) during 21 – 25 March 2005.

The 5-day course consisted of lectures by representatives from U.S. academic institutions, U.S. FDA, and representatives from Thai FDA and Department of Agriculture, case studies and field visits. Approximately 40 attendants were from Thai Department of Agriculture, research/academic institutions and private companies, with responsibilities for education and outreach on the safe production of fresh fruits and vegetables in Thailand.
