Prof. Morakot Tanticharoen, BIOTEC Director, led the delegation of BIOTEC research and management team, to visit the Institute of Biotechnology (IBT) in Hanoi and the Institute of Tropical Biology (ITB) in Ho Chi Minh City during 11-13 July 2005.  The discussion resulted in a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with each institute to set out the collaboration in research and capacity building in the field of biotechnology. Initial focus will be given to the study and management of biodiversity and bioresource utilization.  Projects such as the Bioresource Information Management, the use of Geographical Information System (GIS) in biodiversity database were identified in the short-term workplan.
