Thailand’s Participation in the 2009 BIO International Convention in Atlanta
 
BIOTEC, in collaboration with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Technology Management Center (TMC), Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), organized Thailand Pavilion at the 2009 BIO International Convention in Atlanta during 18-21 May 2009, showcasing research, products, services and investment incentive in Thailand. For medicine and healthcare sector, the exhibition provided an opportunity to learn about research and development focusing on the tropical diseases such as Dengue, Malaria, Tuberculosis as well as medical diagnostics and devices. The development of plastic film technology, probiotics for animal/aquaculture and array of diagnostic kits were on display under the theme of agri-business.  Whereas biodiversity corner presented the diversity of Thai bioresources and products derived from discovery program.
 

 

    

 
Thailand was among 22 countries taking part in the International R&D Presentations. Thailand’s presentation focused on “Building up research capacity for win-win partnerships: Bioprospecting in Thailand”.  To download the presentation, please click here.
 

     
Thailand’s participation in Bio 2009 Atlanta aimed at attracting investment and collaboration in bio-business sector. BIO 2009 were participated by more than 14,000 attendees from all over the world.
