Vision

Ecology lab will promote the understanding of biodiversity and monitoring of ecosystems as well as the use of biodiversity in Thailand. The long term monitoring of the ecosystems will provide important information that would be beneficial and useful for studies of sustainable management and responses to climate change, which incorporate GIS, remote sensing, and database techniques as the most important tools.

Mission

• To promote the establishment of permanent plots for monitoring biodiversity, studying forest dynamics, and analyzing the effects of climate change.
• To collaborate with people who wish to study fungi, insects, plants, etc in permanent plots.
• To prepare, store, and distribute voucher specimens from long-term plots and other field projects, and help others identify specimens of higher plants.
• To continue studies of plant-animal interactions on permanent plots and help others to engage in them.
