The Biotec plant herbarium is part of the BIOTEC BANGKOK HERBARIUM which is managed by the Ecology Lab, and specializes in storing and distributing voucher specimens from the biodiversity research plots established by the Lab. Its main plot is the 30-ha forest dynamics plot in Khao Yai National Park. Voucher specimens from other research projects within BIOTEC and outside collaborators are also stored. The plant herbarium consists of a small climate-controlled room that is sealed room pests, plus preparation and storage rooms. At least one technical assistant is hired full time to manage the collection. The herbarium room has cabinet space for approximately 8,000 dried specimens and will need to expand in the future.
