A Tuberculosis test kit and a bioremediation agent won Gold Prize and Semi Grand Prize, respectively, at the Seoul International Invention Fair 2012. Both inventions are the collaborative work between BIOTEC and partner institutes.
On 29 November 2012, BIOTEC signed a Memorandum of Understanding with 
Dr. Apichart Vanavichit, Associate Professor of Kasetsart University and Director of 
BIOTEC, in collaboration with the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden and Japan’s National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE), organized the 9th Annual Meeting of the Asian Consortium for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Microbial Resources (ACM9) on 25–27 October 2012 in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
