Dr. Kobkul Laoteng received her doctorate in Biotechnology from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) on a scholarship from the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). She joined BIOTEC as a researcher in 2000 and was later appointed Director of the Functional Ingredients and Food Innovation Research Group in 2019.
Dr. Laoteng’s expertise lies in fermentation and bioprocessing technologies, and microbial lipid metabolism. She possesses over 20 patents, petty patents, and prototypes and publishes more than 50 papers in international, peer-reviewed journals. She was awarded the Taguchi Prize in 2000 and the UNESCO-L’Oreal Fellowship’s “For Women in Science” in 2008.
