Director of Biosensing and Bioprospecting Technology Research Group
Dr. Wanilada Rungrassamee completed her doctoral degree in Microbiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Massachusetts, U.S.A. In 2008, she joined BIOTEC as a researcher and currently holds a position as Director of Biosensing and Bioprospecting Technology Research Group.
Her area of expertise includes molecular microbiology, gene expression analysis and bacterial detection assays. She is interested in characterization of gut microbiota and their interactions to the animal host, along with development of DNA-based assays for multiplex gene expression analysis as a useful molecular tool for animal health evaluation. Her current research includes examining roles of gut microbiota and their correlation to shrimp health. She has published over 20 publications in international, peer-reviewed journals, and filed over 10 intellectual properties.
