BIOTEC\u2019s Integrative Aquaculture Biotechnology Research <\/strong>pulls together experts in the fields of aquaculture, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics and molecular biology to work on innovative research with direct relevance to Thailand\u2019s aquaculture industry. Integrative Aquaculture Biotechnology Research Group consists of 6 teams:<\/span><\/p>

  1. Aquatic Animal Health Research Team\u00a0<\/strong><\/a> seeks to understand the shrimp-pathogen interactions which serves as a basis to craft strategies for the prevention and control of pathogens causing disease outbreaks in shrimp culture. Selective breeding program of shrimp is also of focus.<\/li>
  2. Aquaculture Service Development Research Team<\/strong><\/a><\/li>
  3. Aquatic Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology Research Team<\/strong><\/a> focuses on reproductive maturation, growth and development, genetic markers and nutrigenomics<\/li>
  4. Fish and Shrimp Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Research Team<\/strong><\/a> concentrates on disease prevention and control and selective breeding program of shrimp and fish<\/li>
  5. Marine Biotechnology Research Team<\/strong><\/a> which focuses on aquaculture biotechnology, marine environmental biotechnology and biodiversity<\/li>
  6. Shrimp Genetic Improvement Research Team<\/strong><\/a> aims to stock and cross-breed different families of monodon<\/em> and other tropical shrimp species to provide Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) P. monodon broodstocks<\/em> with favorable traits, such as high growth rate, disease resistance, etc. to the shrimp industry.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
