building capacity in technologies and subsequently providing knowledge platforms for the thematic research programs. Platform technologies of current focus include:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>&#8211; Genomics Technology. <\/strong>The objectives of the Genomics Technology platform are to improve the capacity of genomics and post-genomics research in Thailand, to strengthen the infrastructure and human resources and to facilitate the application for agricultural, medical, industrial, and environmental solutions. Founded in 2007, the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.biotec.or.th\/GI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Genome Institute<\/a>\u00a0focuses on research and development of technologies related to genomics, high-throughput sequencing, proteomics, bioinformatics, and systems biology. The Institute also provides scientific assistance in\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www4a.biotec.or.th\/hpc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">high-performance computing (HPC)\u00a0<\/a>as an infrastructure for scientific communities in Thailand. Currently, The Genome Institute houses the following\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www4a.biotec.or.th\/cogdb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">genomic databases<\/a>: rice, shrimp, cassava, spirulina, rubber tree and ThaiSNP, accessible through the Internet.<\/span><\/li><li>\u00a0<\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>&#8211; Microbial Biotechnology<\/strong>.
