Dr. Suvit Maesincee, Minister of Science and Technology visited to the laboratories of NSTDA. The delegations includes a 7-year-old Jirat \u201cCopter\u201d Sumitmoh, the winner of a popular \u201cSuper 10\u201d TV program and teachers from Bangkok Christian College School. The group was welcomed by Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul, President of NSTDA, NSTDA\/ BIOTEC executives and researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biotec.or.th\/en\/images\/stories\/News\/2018\/Nong_Copter\/Nong_Copter.jpg\" alt=\"Nong Copter\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The delegations visited 3 BIOTEC labs which includes:- Thailand Bioresource Research Center (TBRC), a non-profit center which preserves biological resources such as bacteria and fungi. TBRC also focuses on the utilization of bioresource for food and medicine production.- Genomic Research Lab which covers population genetics, evolutionary and functional genomics.- Microarray Laboratory which develops the novel methods to detect diseases of plants, animals and various pathogens.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.biotec.or.th\/en\/images\/stories\/News\/2018\/Nong_Copter\/Nong_Copter1.jpg\" alt=\"Nong Copter1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;This visit was part of the project aiming to trigger Thai children\u2019s interest in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Education: STEM Education) and inspire \u201cthe scientists\u201d in children. The project also aims to provide young children opportunities to exercise their scientific thinking and apply what they learn to real-life experiences in response to Thailand 4.0 development policy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May 22, 2018&#8211; a group of delegations led by H.E.
