The National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) has established an impressive legacy of work in the field of algal biotechnology for disease control in the aquaculture industry. BIOTEC\u2019s Fish and Shrimp Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Research Team and Mahidol University’s Faculty of Science have been collaborating for over 20 years; the partnership has developed a low-cost antiviral microalgae platform, which has been successfully implemented as feed supplement against diseases in shrimps and other aquatic animals. Furthermore, BIOTEC\u2019s BioSciences and Systems Biology Research Team and King Mongkut\u2019s University of Technology Thonburi have established a groundbreaking systems-biology innovation for the entire microalgae value chain. By integrating upstream, midstream, and downstream processes, including cultivation,
\nbio-active compound, and value-added product production, the teams revolutionize the widespread adoption of microalgae-based solutions in aquaculture. BIOTEC aims to rejuvenate Thailand’s aquatic export industry and help build a more resilient, prosperous, and sustainable future through innovation, knowledge sharing, and envinronmental-friendly practices.<\/p>\n
