Over 18 years, the partnership between BIOTEC and Novartis has leveraged the complementary expertise of both organizations, with BIOTEC focusing on microorganisms\u2014ranging from collection and identification to culturing, screening for biological activities and natural compound isolation\u2014and Novartis, an industrial leader in Natural Product Research, harnessing cutting-edge technologies and highly developed skills for the identification of natural products from various biological sources. This collaboration aims to explore the medicinal potential of microbial derived natural compounds. In addition to research, the partnership emphasizes capacity building through internships for BIOTEC scientists at Novartis in Switzerland and training sessions led by Novartis experts at BIOTEC.<\/span><\/p>

Special Highlight<\/strong>:\u00a0The event is organized to celebrate the partnership with Novartis, featuring\u00a0a keynote talk on the “Evolution of Natural Product Research” by Dr. Frank Petersen, Executive Director of Natural Products and Biomolecular Chemistry (NPBC), Global Discovery Chemistry, Novartis<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>
