On July 23, 2025, at Thailand Science Park, the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), warmly welcomed a delegation from the National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute (NAFRI) from Lao PDR. The visit aimed to showcase BIOTEC’s work, achievements, and research laboratories.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The program began with an overview of BIOTEC and collaborative efforts with NAFRI by Dr. Warinthorn Songkasiri, Deputy Executive Director of BIOTEC. Mr. Chaloun Bounithiphonh, Deputy Director of Administration, Planning & Cooperation of NAFRI, then presented an overview of NAFRI. BIOTEC researchers also highlighted key projects, including sustainable cassava production (featuring diagnostic and clean seed technologies), mycelium-based materials & waste utilization, and ASF vaccine development.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The NAFRI delegation toured four facilities: the Plant Phenomics Facility, Plant Microbe Interaction Lab, Biocontrol Technology Lab, and Diagnosis Technology Platform for Plant Pathogens.
