On Oct 31st, 2022, co-founders and Co-directors of IJC-FOODSEC (Prof.Chris Elliott, Prof.Dr.Nitsara Karronuthaisiri, and Assistant Professor Dr.Awanwee Petchkongkaew) discussed with Prof. Dr. Pavinee Chinnachoti,  Chair of Food Innovation and Regulation Network (FIRN) on food regulation and standard harmonization.

FIRN has been established by Food Science and Technology Association of Thailand (FoSTAT) with a close collaboration with Thai Food and Drug Administration, academia and Thai food industries to encourage the ecosystem for business development of high-value functional foods and functional ingredients. One of FIRN missions is to help narrow down the gap both in scientific knowledge and in project roadmap towards functional food health claims.

The collaboration between FIRN and IJC-FOODSEC will bring opportunities for accelerating R&D and innovation for agriculture utilization for developing functional ingredients and functional foods in support of BCG (Bio-Circular-Green economy) context.
