
On October 15, 2025, BIOTEC, under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), welcomed a delegation from the China Fisheries Association (CFA) led by Prof. Li Shengli, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of CFA. The delegates were welcomed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaowaree Adthalungrong, BIOTEC Executive Director.

The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between Thailand and China in aquaculture research and biotechnology innovation. The program featured presentations on BIOTEC’s research and industrial solutions for the aquaculture sector, covering areas such as genetic improvement, disease diagnostics and management and probiotic supplements for aquaculture. Discussions focused on potential cooperation in research, technology transfer, and capacity building to promote sustainable aquaculture practices in the region.


The delegation also toured BIOTEC’s key facilities, including the BIOTEC Bioprocessing Facility and the Animal Biosafety Level 2 (ABSL-2) Aquaculture Laboratory, a newly established facility dedicated to aquatic animal research.




The China Fisheries Association (CFA) is a national non-profit organization representing China’s fisheries and aquaculture industries. Operating under the guidance of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, CFA promotes sustainable fisheries development, drives technological innovation, enhances international cooperation, and supports member enterprises through policy advocacy and industry services. CFA currently comprises over 3,000 member units, including major medium and large enterprises in China’s fisheries sector.
