BIOTEC and XTBG Strengthen Collaboration in Forest Ecology and Plant Research

On September 4, 2025, 12 delegates from XTBG, led by Prof. Dr. Yaowu Xing, Director General of XTBG, visited BIOTEC to discuss ongoing collaboration in forest ecology and explore new areas such as seed banking and plant-microbe interaction. The delegates were welcomed by Assistant Professor Dr. Chaowaree Adthalungrong, BIOTEC Executive Director, and Dr. Warinthorn Songkhasiri, Deputy Executive Director.

Since 2017, BIOTEC and XTBG have collaborated on the project “Multi-disciplinary research on the mechanisms driving community assembly along a tropical latitudinal gradient in Indo-China Peninsula.” With study sites in Xishuangbanna and Thailand, the project focuses on functional diversity and environmental gradients, with the Mo Singto Forest Dynamics Plot at Khao Yai National Park serving as a key site. The partnership allows data sharing and comparison, strengthening scientific knowledge both locally and regionally.

A new MoU between BIOTEC and XTBG will be signed on September 11, 2025 during BIOTEC’s visit to XTBG.
