The second Steering Committee Meeting of the Biologics and Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing in Thailand for Equitable Access to Essential Medicines (BPM_TEAM) project was held on 29 October 2025, bringing together partners from CSIRO, Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), National Vaccine Institute (NVI), and National Biopharmaceutical Facility (NBF/KMUTT), with the support of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
Co-chaired by Prof. Susie Nilsson from CSIRO and Dr. Isariya Techatanawat from GPO, the meeting reviewed the progress achieved since the previous session and outlined key activities for the upcoming fiscal year. Major updates included progress following the Thai team’s visit to CSIRO in June–July 2025. Looking ahead, the project partners plan to organize training and knowledge exchange activities at CSIRO in February 2026, focusing on downstream processing and analytical methods to enhance local expertise and manufacturing readiness.
Led by CSIRO, the BPM_TEAM project is a joint initiative among CSIRO, GPO, NSTDA, and NBF/KMUTT, supported by DFAT. The project aims to strengthen Thailand’s pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity and promote equitable access to essential medicines.
This collaboration builds on the shared commitment of Australia and Thailand to promote regional health security and resilient supply chains for critical medicines.
