

July 23, 2025: The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) of Thailand and the National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute (NAFRI) of the Lao PDR officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today at the BIOTEC Auditorium, Thailand Science Park. This agreement aims to significantly enhance cooperation in agricultural and forestry research and development, promising mutual benefits for both nations.



The ceremony featured welcoming remarks from Assistant Professor Dr. Chaowaree Adthalungrong, Executive Director of NSTDA’s National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC). Dr. Phetmanyseng Xangsayasane, Director General of NAFRI, then delivered opening remarks, followed by congratulatory remarks from Mr. Toulakham PHOMSENGSAVANH, Counsellor (Economic and Commercial) representing the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Thailand.


This MOU marks a pivotal moment in solidifying scientific and technological collaboration, paving the way for sustainable advancements in the agriculture and forestry sectors across the region.
