Prof. He Qigai received his PhD from Huazhong Agricultural University in 2000 in the field of animal disease-resistant breeding, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship and scientific visiting scientist position at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is currently a full professor as well as a principal investigator at the State Key Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Huazhong Agricultural University, China. He is also a board member of Asian Pig Veterinary Society (APVS) and a senior scientist responsible for swine disease prevention and control at China Agriculture Research System (CARS-36). His current research area centers around the prevention and control of important infectious diseases of swine such as pseudorabies, porcine epidemic diarrhea, porcine circovirus associated diseases and Hemaphillus parasuis.
